ABU DHABI: Peshawar Zalmi defeated Islamabad United in Eliminator-II of Pakistan Super League and made his fourth final in six editions with all-round performance.
Zalmli’s skipper Wahab Riaz won the toss and elected to ball first and said his team is good at chasing in the last few matches.
His gamble worked on the field and Zalmi’s experienced bowling destroyed the top order of Islamabad united.
Except Colin Munro’s 44 there is no other batsman in United line-up has shown up their skills.
But on the other hands, Zalmi’s bowling show was continue and reduced United on 110 for 8 in 16th over.
In the last phase of the innings, Hassan Ali has other tricks, and scored 45 on just 16 deliveries with 5 fours and 3 sixes.
United has set a total of 175 for Zalmi to make fourth final of PSL.
In reply, Peshawar Zalmi lost Kamran Akmal early, but the chase was on with cool and calm Zazai and Wells partnership.
When they got momentum then started to hit Islamabad United’s bowlers all around the Shaikh Zaid Stadium.
Zazai score 65 on just 39 balls brought the Zalmi’s close to victory line, and at the end Shoaib Malik’s 10-ball 32 confirmed their final place.
Peshawar Zalmi will meet Multan Sultans in the final of PSL 6 on 24 June.
