
KABUL: Taliban attacked a central corridor between Afghanistan and Tajikistan and captured it, international media reported on Wednesday.
According to Taliban Spokesperson, Taliban militants captured the corridor while the security personnels who were guarding it, flew away in Tajikistan.
On the other hand, a member of Afghan Provincial Council confirmed the incident and said the militants attacked Sher Khan area at the border.
Spokesperson of Afghan security forces said that they were preparing a large scale operation to recapture the corridor.
Reuters reported that Taliban controlled 87 districts out of 421 in Afghanistan.
