PSQCA strongly rebutted the claim of Mr. Bashir Memon who alleged that PSQCA team harassed Ghee mill staff

Karachi : Pakistan Standards and Quality Control Authority (PSQCA) strongly rebutted the claim of Mr. Bashir Memon who alleged that PSQCA team harassed Ghee mill staff at M/s Al- Mujtaba Oil and Ghee Industry.

PSQCA team have never ever harassed the staff even mill is not sealed, PSQCA has mandate as per Act VI of 1996 to check premises of Cocking Oil anywhere in Pakistan, Authority said, under the policy PSQCA teams regularly visited industries of mandatory items which are 166 items including Ghee and Cocking oil, this mill is not a single mill which is visited last day. The allegations made by Memon’s family are baseless.

Narrating the facts, Authority said that the story published in today’s newspapers are baseless and malafiede as per law PSQCA team visited M/s Al- Mujtaba Oil and Ghee Industry to serve Notice for using PSQCA Logo without Certification Marks (CM) license on the complaint of M/s. Latif Ghee Industry (Licensed producer) for illegal production of their Brand “Latif Gold” and illegal use of PSQCA Mark. Factory has not been sealed and no record has been confiscated as there was no production at the time of inspection.

The Authority further informed that earlier the M/S Mujtaba oil and Ghee industry was issued a Show Cause Notice dated 2nd March 2021 for illegal production but unit failed to reply.

The PSQCA has solely discharged its duty as per its mandate. The PSQCA reject all allegations of harassment.
