No processions for Youm-e-Ali, only majalis with SOPs : NCOC

Islamabad : As part of new restrictions to contain the third wave of the novel coronavirus in Pakistan, the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) on Saturday decided to ban all sorts of Yaum-e-Ali processions on May 4 or Ramazan 21.

But the holding of Majlis has been permitted under strict Covid-19 SOPs, already in place for Ramadan, said a NCOC sent to chief secrearties to the provinces and chief commissioner ICT.

Federal Minister Asad Umar chaired a meeting to decide this. It will apply across Pakistan. No jaloos or processions will be allowed for this specific day
